THE CHALLENGE
When Evolution first approached Sage Island, its website had a dated feel that didn’t reflect its talented and innovative environment. So, we got busy designing a website that communicated to current and potential audiences, using the education and experiences found at this studio to draw them in.
THE SOLUTION
To give the Evolution Dance Complex a website that advanced its mission while offering a fresh, modern feel, the team at Sage Island came up with several solutions. These included a redesign of the site, fresh images, new video, copy that captured the studio’s personality, and a new structure for information.
Aesthetically pleasing graphics and video.
Images and video are crucial to selling services like dance and fitness, so we needed to create website features that prominently displayed this imagery. We had to make sure they were captivating enough to sell the services through the screen. Our design team took stock of hundreds of photos and still images from videos and proceeded to make them look as eye-catching as possible to compliment the new site and wow visitors.
The Sage Island design team took this opportunity to incorporate an attention-grabbing video into the home page header. The video instantly grabs the viewer and showcases the talent and skills learned while at EDC.
A new design and user-friendly layout.
While not overpowering, EDC’s new design was freshened up to incorporate a sense of organization as well as contemporary navigability. A range of blues and yellows reflects their logo and brand and adds to the design for a hint of tranquility and ease. The header menu provides concise labels that will help visitors quickly find just what they need and enhance their website experience.
Improved functionality.
We implemented many new function designs into Evolutions website to make life easier for them, and of course, their clients. Some of the things include:
- Sitemap organization that concisely laid out the abundant content on the site. We added CTA buttons on the homepage that now point to custom landing pages for easy navigation and searchability.
- A resources page that features blogs to build credibility as a studio, engage with followers, and promote higher-quality Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
- A new dance styles page where potential students can learn about each dance technique before coming into the studio.
Purposeful videography.
To take this dance studio to the next level Sage Island went beyond a website redesign and developed some purposeful videography to showcase their fantastic competition teams. Because dance is a creative field, we needed to bypass standard marketing strategies and take a more “out-of-the-box” path to highlight this studio’s talent and competitive side.
Since they need to target potential students, we needed to focus on what sets their dance studio apart and how joining can benefit visitors. Our videos feature the beauty of dance, the highly trained technique of the Evolution Dance Complex dancers, the elite choreography, and the amazing talent found at EDC.
A social media-savvy marketing retainer.
