The StreetSafe lifesaving driving experience is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of our most at-risk drivers.

StreetSafe has an innovative approach that offers a hands-on experience designed and developed to change the driving behaviors that cause moving violations, crashes, DUI’s, injuries, and death. Taught by First Responders, StreetSafe allows drivers to experience, witness, and discuss the consequences of risky behaviors and bad decision-making behind-the-wheel. StreetSafe believes this real-world education style leads to a better understanding of being behind-the-wheel and encourages a healthy respect for safe driving.


When StreetSafe first approached Sage Island, they had a dated website that didn’t reflect their innovative and forward-thinking environment. The company had grown, resulting in an expansion of information and resources that hadn’t yet been integrated in an organized manner. Thus, the website was a bit awkward, making it difficult for potential students to find what they needed when they needed it.


To give StreetSafe a website that advanced its mission while offering a fresh, modern feel, the team at Sage Island came up with several solutions. These included a redesign of the site, images and copy that capture the driving school’s mission, and a new structure for resources and information.

Our graphic designers used lively fonts, a bold color palette, informative videos, and eye-catching images to capture the innovative vibe of StreetSafe.

The new design better showcases their vast array of programs, along with bold headers and call-to-action blocks to highlight the core services, such as driver’s education and traffic court.

A new organized and streamlined layout.

The Sage Island team’s biggest challenge regarding this project was organizing and streamlining StreetSafe’s information and resources. To keep this information polished and easy to find, we created a horizontal drop-down menu on the homepage.

The most significant section is listed under “About” and includes internal pages such as “Instructors” and “In the News.” There is also a “Services” section that leads to a secondary menu, where visitors can find more information about the Traffic Court Driving Programs, School Presentations, and Alcohol Education courses.

Another big thing we implemented during this portion of the design was a translation to Spanish site section, which is extremely important for StreetSafe’s customer base.

Custom-built booking tool.

Our programmers got creative with a few programming requests. The most important was a custom-built post type that allows students to book courses online easily. It makes registration stress-free during what can be a stressful time. It was important for this feature to be as user-friendly as possible. For many students, this page is their first interaction with StreetSafe, and this new and improved feature guarantees their experience will be a good one. 


With a new layout, a simple booking tool, and engaging photos, StreetSafe now has a site that truly reflects it’s business and mission. The site is now ready to drive off into the sunset as it prepares for a hectic season!
